Council Realizes Federal Money At Stake For Paine

Nevermind the largest commercial jets in the world land and take off from Paine Field.  Disregard the fact that the private planes kept at Paine Field are often louder than the commercials ones.  And regardless of the fact that at one time over 30,000 people worked at the Boeing plant nearby, the Snohomish County Council is looking desperately for ways to block commercial air service at Paine Field because they are worried about noise and traffic.  This article from the Herald's Jeff Switzer underscores, though, that Snohomish County relies on federal funding to maintain Paine Field, and on that front, it will be difficult to block commercial air service.  Click here for the article.
